Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice describes how Omnia Health Solutions, LLC (“Omnia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), as sponsor of the BEACON Study (Protocol OMN-1000) and operator/moderator of the BEACON Community, collects, uses, shares, and protects information from community members. It supplements the Bettermode Privacy Policy, which governs general platform operations (e.g., account creation, authentication, cookies).
This Notice applies specifically to Omnia’s use of information generated within the BEACON Community and does not replace or override the Bettermode Privacy Policy.
By using the BEACON Community, you consent to this Notice and Bettermode policies. If you are a BEACON Study participant, this aligns with the Informed Consent Form (ICF) and HIPAA authorization you have already signed.

1. Information We Collect
We do not solicit personally identifiable information (PII) within community discussions or research activities, such as full names, contact details, or medical records.
Account-level information (such as email address) is collected by the hosting platform for authentication and account management purposes and is governed by the Bettermode Privacy Policy.
Data collected within the community may include:
User-Generated Content: Posts, comments, polls, replies, and other voluntary contributions (e.g., experiences with obesity, FDA-approved GLP-1 therapies such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, lifestyle tools, or behavioral changes).
Community content may be analyzed internally in aggregate and de-identified form to generate qualitative insights that complement the BEACON Study.
Moderation and Platform Data: Aggregated engagement metrics (e.g., number of posts, active members) and moderation alerts used to support community safety and operations.
Research Events: Responses to voluntary polls, surveys, and expert sessions conducted within the community (de-identified).
We encourage the use of non-identifiable usernames and caution against sharing contact information or details that could increase the risk of re-identification (e.g., rare conditions combined with demographic details).
2. How We Use Your Information
Omnia uses community information for the following purposes:
Peer Support: To facilitate discussion, moderation, and engagement prompts within the BEACON Community.
Research and Insights: To export de-identified and/or aggregated community content (e.g., via CSV or API) for qualitative analysis conducted by Omnia Health Solutions and its scientific collaborators, including analysis of real-world experiences with GLP-1 therapies. Community content may be linked to BEACON Study data only when applicable and de-identified, to enrich insights without revealing identities.
Community Management: To support daily moderation, community operations, engagement activities, and voluntary research events.
Compliance and Safety: To document moderation actions, escalate safety concerns, and meet applicable regulatory or ethical obligations. Omnia does not use community data for direct marketing or sales purposes.
3. How We Share Your Information
De-Identified Only: Community information may be shared internally within Omnia’s operations and scientific teams, or with approved collaborators (e.g., patient advocacy organizations), only in de-identified or aggregated form. Community content is never shared in raw, identifiable form with external partners.
Legal or Regulatory Requirements: Information may be disclosed as required for audits, safety reporting (e.g., adverse event reporting to regulatory authorities), or legal obligations (e.g., subpoenas).
Platform and Moderation Access: Authorized Omnia personnel and approved community partners may access community data solely for moderation, safety oversight, and operational purposes, consistent with HIPAA-aligned practices and role-based access controls.
4. Data Protection and Security
Omnia applies administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, including role-based access controls and audit logging for any study-linked datasets. Platform-level security controls are governed by the Bettermode Privacy Policy and monitored by Omnia.
Retention: Community content is retained while accounts remain active; deleted posts are removed promptly from the community view. Study-linked, de-identified data is retained for at least five (5) years following study completion or community closure, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11).
5. Your Rights and Choices
You retain control over your community participation and content, subject to platform terms:
Control Visibility: Adjust post visibility settings where available.
Delete Content: Remove posts or comments at any time; request account deactivation if desired. De-identified data already used for consented research purposes may be retained to preserve research integrity.
Withdraw: You may leave the community at any time without impact to your medical care or participation in the BEACON Study.
6. Re-Identification Risks
Even in private, login-restricted communities, combinations of non-identifying details (such as age, location, timelines, or rare experiences) may increase the risk of re-identification.
Members are encouraged to share thoughtfully and avoid unnecessary detail. Moderators may redact accidental personally identifiable information when identified to help protect community members.
